01The service
Inert sits between an agentic coding harness (Claude Code, OpenCode, Kilo Code, and similar tools) and upstream model providers. You point the harness at Inert's API endpoint, Inert routes the request to an upstream provider, and streams the completion back. Public route aliases (such as Fable 5 or Opus 5) abstract the real upstream model behind each route. Routes, aliases, and pricing can change, and the upstream provider behind a given route may change without that route's name changing.
02Accounts & eligibility
There are two ways in: a Telegram device sign-in, where you approve a one-time code in the Telegram bot, and a username and password you set on your account. Some access is invite- or credit-gated through invite codes. Inert never asks for an email address, so there is no self-service password reset. A lost password has to be reset by an operator, and starting a fresh chat with the bot creates a separate account rather than recovering yours. You may hold one account per person, and you are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be able to form a binding contract to use Inert, and you are responsible for keeping your Telegram account and any sign-in credentials secure.
03API keys & security
API keys are created in the dashboard and shown to you once at creation. Inert stores only a hashed digest of each key, never the key itself, so a lost key cannot be recovered. You rotate by creating a new key and revoking the old one. Treat an API key like a password: you are responsible for keeping it secret and for any use made through it.
04Billing & payments
Inert is prepaid and your balance is denominated in integer microdollars. Each request debits that balance based on token usage and the price of the route it used. When your balance runs out, further requests are declined until you top up again. Prices are subject to change. Prepaid credit is generally non-refundable, except where required by law.
Top-ups are paid in cryptocurrency through NOWPayments. You pick an amount and a coin, we show you a pay-in address (and, on chains that need one, a memo or destination tag) and a quoted coin amount, and your wallet is credited when the payment is confirmed. Cryptocurrency is the only payment method we accept. We do not take card payments.
Because payment is on-chain, the following apply and are your responsibility:
- An on-chain send cannot be reversed by Inert or by the payment provider once it is broadcast, and sending to a wrong or expired address is not recoverable.
- A payment that arrives for less than the quoted amount does not credit automatically. Contact us with the pay-in address and we will settle it by hand.
- On chains that require a memo or destination tag, a payment sent without it may not be matchable to your account at all.
- The exchange-rate quote attached to an address expires. After it lapses the quoted coin amount is no longer guaranteed; request a fresh quote before sending.
- Network and provider fees are deducted by the network and the provider, not by Inert. Your wallet is credited with the amount actually confirmed.
05Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Inert for anything illegal, or to generate content that violates applicable law
- Attempt to break, overload, or circumvent rate limits, billing, or other technical controls
- Resell access to Inert, or share an API key with anyone outside your own use
- Use outputs in ways prohibited by the usage policies of the upstream model providers your requests reach
Because Inert routes to third-party model providers, you must also comply with the acceptable-use and content policies of whichever upstream provider handles a given request.
06Your content
You own the prompts you submit and are responsible for them. Inert does not store prompt or completion content (see the Privacy Policy for details). You grant Inert only the transient processing needed to route a request to an upstream provider and stream the response back to you.
07Service availability & changes
Inert is early-stage and provided as is, without any guarantee of uptime or availability. Routes, pricing, and features may change, be added, or be discontinued at any time.
08Disclaimers
Inert makes no warranty, express or implied, about the service or the outputs it returns. Model outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for a given purpose. You are responsible for reviewing and validating outputs before relying on them.
09Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Inert is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Inert's total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid to Inert in the three months preceding the claim.
10Suspension & termination
Inert may suspend or terminate your account for violating these terms or for abusive use. You may stop using Inert at any time. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of remaining wallet balance, except where required by law.
11Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the update will be posted here. Continuing to use Inert after a change takes effect means you accept the revised terms.
